Hey there, I’m Angela and I’m really happy you’re here! After a journey with breast cancer and then contracting Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, I realized the foods I was eating were affecting my health – in ways that were obvious (as in “chubby”) and in ways that weren’t (you know like, on the “inside”). While I was working on the outward obviousness and trying to get fit and lose weight, I discovered the Paleo Diet. At first, I was astonished and frankly horrified that anyone would deprive themselves of so much food joy! But I got over that initial shock … eventually – and started thinking about this crazy thing called Paleo. So, no more birthday cake, wedding cake, casseroles full of deadly but delicious creamy soups? Hmmm … I was sure that I would be totally deprived and it wouldn’t last long. So I put my toe in the water and started making baby steps towards full-on Paleo. It didn’t take long for me to experience benefits (gradual weight loss, increased energy) and jump “all in” – like, for real. That was 2007 and I haven’t looked back! That’s not a diet my friends. That’s a lifestyle

For me, Paleo is a completely sustainable lifestyle – and contrary to my earlier belief, I do not feel deprived. I feel alive. And honestly, I really don’t even like using the word Paleo because it’s so much more than that. Plus I have a strong dislike for labels. Plus I feel like the word “Paleo” evokes strong negative emotions in many individuals. Really, it’s just eating clean – and depending upon your goals and your health issues – that could be 70% of the time, 80%, and so on. I still eat ice cream … if it’s really worth it. I still make “Paleo” goodies like brownies and pancakes with delicious 100% maple syrup and grass-fed butter. I am human, after all. But a couple times a year, I will eat totally clean for at least 30 days straight – to reset, if you will – because our bodies change as time goes on and food tolerances will too. There are certain things I never compromise on though, mostly foods that cause “leaky gut” – like beans and gluten – I’ve been successfully gluten-free since 2012 (my Hashimoto’s diagnosis) … and it’s been easier than I imagined. Now, I want to help others realize that their health is important and their goals are attainable, too. I’ve been set free from the bondage of the Standard American Diet – there’s hope for everyone!

As a follower of Jesus, it’s impossible really for me to adhere strictly to the entire Paleo philosophy. I’m among the minority in the big world of Paleo because I don’t believe we evolved millions of years ago from monkeys and other evolutionary ideas. So if you’re looking for someone to go down the evolutionary path with you, I’m probably not your person. However, if you are looking for someone to walk with you through navigating a healthful Paleo/clean eating plan and help you make the best lifestyle choices for you, that would be me! I will be your instructor, accountability person, cheerleader, coach, and prayer warrior and I will share all of the knowledge I’ve gathered through intense self-study, course materials and experience over the last 9 years in order to help you become the very best YOU that you can be! In addition, I have learned from numerous experts in the field at Paleo f(x) – a national Paleo symposium – am a graduate of Dr. Josh Axe’s Institute of Nutritional Leadership and am Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified.
